We are currently recruiting for an Application Support Engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Installs, configures, maintains and supports web based multi-tiered redundant client server applications in a heterogeneous environment.
- Responsible for providing high quality application support to internal and external users in headquarter and remote locations by person, phone or email.
- Monitors application performance, server resource usage and performs preventative maintenance on Windows 2003 servers, Windows 2008 servers, SunSparc Enterprise Solaris 10, Redhat Linux Enterprise, Oracle 11g database and application servers.
- Installs, configures and maintains network devices in a high availability environment composed of Cisco firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers, content switch, proxy server, global traffic manager, VPN, DNS, RADIUS and web servers.
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, Microsoft CRM, salesforce.com, Confluence, Jira, Agile or Arena a plus.
- Strong understanding of Client/Server and J2EE web technologies in JBOSS, Websphere and/or BEA Weblogic.
- In-depth working system administration knowledge of Windows domain servers, Solaris and Linux in a multi-sites domain environment.
- Oracle, SQL Server and LAMP experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of BGP, HSRP, Spanning Tree, dynamic VLAN, TCP/IP, VPN, DHCP, DNS and WINS
- Able to configure and troubleshoot multiple entry point environment using Cisco PIX/ASA firewall, Cisco router and Cisco L5 content switch
- Thorough understanding of monitoring methodology and able to use SNMP based tools.
- Good understanding in application security
- Basic development & script writing skills in Windows, Solaris and Linux
- Communicates highly technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Works on problems of diverse scope where superb root cause analysis skills are needed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willing to work in flexible hours. Demonstrates ability to recognize and react to situations with a sense of urgency and total call ownership.
- Must be a team player and work effectively with minimum supervision.
Skills/ Experiences:
- 6 or more years of client server application support and network experience with some helpdesk support experience.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Technology or equivalent
