Google and partners in credit and debit cards, banking, retailing, and software and point of sale systems at the end of May took a bold step forward and introduced a new mobile payment system built on near field communications (NFC), the wireless connectivity technology that lets shoppers wave or tap their mobile phones instead of pulling out their wallets.

And using ViVOtech’s powerful new one-touch technology, people shopping in Google SingleTap Merchants for the first time ever will be able to not just pay, but also redeem coupons or special personalized offers, and earn loyalty credit – all with a single tap of their mobile phone.
