ViVOpay 5000 Now Used in Visa’s Contactless
Programs

CLARA, Calif., November 12, 2007 – ViVOtech, the
leader in Near Field Communication (NFC) and contactless payment
systems, today announced that its ViVOpay 5000 is now available
to participants in Visa payWave programs throughout Europe, the
Middle East and Africa (CEMEA), Latin America and Canada. The ViVOpay
5000 reader received the Visa payWave Level 2 Type approval for
Visa’s Contactless Payment Specifications version 2.0.2, providing
qVSDC 2.0.2 and MSD 2.0.2 functionality. This approval adds to the
previous Visa approvals of ViVOtech products used in Visa payWave
programs in Asia-Pacific and the U.S.
ViVOtech
has shipped ViVOpay readers to a wide variety of merchants in 27
countries all over the world. The ViVOpay 5000 has proved to be
the company’s best selling product in countries where EMV
smart cards are currently being adopted in record numbers. As part
of a rigorous process to support Visa Contactless Payment Specification
version 2.0.2, ViVOtech submitted ViVOpay 5000 to an independent
laboratory to undergo extensive testing.
