Latin America Markets
New
ViVOpay 5000 Offers Speed, Flexibility and Support for Multiple
Applications
SANTA
CLARA, Calif. November 14, 2005 – ViVOtech, the leading
supplier of contactless payment solutions, today announced the ViVOpay
5000, the highest performance contactless payment solution for Asia,
Europe and Latin America. The new ViVOpay 5000 enables existing
EMV Point of Sale (PoS) and ECR systems to accept contactless EMV
payments.
Designed
for high-volume environments where cash is used, the ViVOpay 5000
will speed-up lines and reduce costs associated with cash handling.
Merchants that have invested in EMV technology will be able to upgrade
existing legacy systems for a fraction of the cost as compared to
replacing a complete unit with contactless EMV capabilities.
With
its high-speed, interactive display and flexible architecture, the
ViVOpay 5000 provides a powerful platform for merchant contactless
programs. The ViVOpay 5000 is equipped with:
-
A powerful ARM processor which makes card reading extremely fast
and allows it to support many different contactless payment programs
– with spare capacity for the future.
- A
graphic LCD directs consumers through the contactless buying process
with helpful prompts, allowing merchants to free up clerks for
other activities.
- An
expandable SD memory slot (with options to add 16, 32, 64 or 128
MB) for additional contactless applications such as gift or loyalty
payments or add-on memory for high-speed offline transactions
in heavy cash traffic locations.
“In
the ViVOpay 5000, customers in EMV countries will find a winning
product, with an easy to use interface designed for high-speed,
low value transactions,” said Mohammad Khan, president and
founder of ViVOtech. “ViVOtech is committed to the development
of technology and solutions that accelerate the adoption of contactless
payments around the world”
The
new ViVOpay 5000 supports all the major EMV and non-EMV contactless
programs including the MasterCard PayPass M/Chip, MasterCard PayPass
M/Strip, Visa Wave, Visa MSD and American Express’ ExpressPay
as well as other private-label prepaid and loyalty programs.
Additional
ViVOpay 5000 Facts:
-
The ViVOpay 5000 is compatible with the industry’s most
popular contactless
interfaces including: ISO 14443 Type A/B, MiFare, NFC (Near Field
Communication) as well as optional ISO 15693 and Sony Felica.
-
ViVOpay 5000’s compact size (5.25 inches with a width of
4.25 inches and depth of 25.4 millimeters) and multiple mount
options allow banks to address specific needs for each retailer,
saving counter space and integrating with existing checkout layout.
-
Compatible with most PoS systems from manufacturers such as Hypercom,
IBM, Ingenico, Lipman, Micros and VeriFone.
The
ViVOpay 5000 will be available for shipment in volume quantities
in Q4 2005.
